"In the course of your day, how many times do you look at something that makes you wonder, what it is? There it is. Sometimes art just makes you question what it is that you’re seeing and that is really valuable in your everyday life."

There is always concern that the works and ideas of individuals in artist communities will go undocumented and histories unrecorded. The RI Art Archive Project series began as documentary film features highlighting the arts, culture, and humanities around New England.

The film brought dialogues of transdisciplinary artists, activists, museums, and community projects into the same conversation focusing on the richness of design history and arts + cultural activation in the region. Access to these films expanded through statewide community screenings and panel discussions, featured exhibitions, public programming, and broadcasting on public television stations RIPBS and WGBH.

Artists + designers featured include: Howard Ben Tré, Len Cabral, John DeMelim, Gretchen Dow Simpson, Ana Flores, Peter Geisser, Lisa Goddard, Mimo Gordon Riley, Lorraine Howes, Saberah Malik, Salvatore Mancini, Annu Matthew, James Montford, Lisa Z. Morgan, Morris Nathanson, Ilse Nesbit, Leo Narducci, Howard Newman + Mika Seeger.

The way that I think asks people to think differently. What I reference tries to have some level of ethics which allows me to stand my ground. My little bit of knowledge questions what you believe you have in terms of your knowledge.“
