LISA Z.MORGAN

RI Art Archive Project

"To me beauty, true beauty, is something that has irregularities. It has a rawness to it, something beyond that which you take in with your eyes. It seems to be synonymous somehow with breathing. When you see something really beautiful you almost sigh.”

Brought up in a small village in the North of England, Lisa Z. Morgan began to cultivate her eye for beauty at an early age. The subject and object of desire has been a palpable constant within her artistic expression as an artist, designer and writer. Since her research focused on the development of a philosophy of the sensuous through the investigation of the color pink, her pseudonym became The Pink Investigator. Through her creativity and research she provokes our understanding and relationship towards desire and the desire impulse. Her focus has been on how we may access, stimulate and touch the internal points of registration or the emotional dynamics of bodily perception. In essence her work attempts to define and make manifest the feeling of feeling, investigating where art, semiotics, and fashion intersect through installations, sculpture, and design.
Lisa's work has been featured and reviewed in W, Elle, Vogue, LOVE, Tatler, Interview, The New York Times, The LA Times, The Financial Times, The Guardian, Wallpaper, The Telegraph, AnOther, Purple Magazine, S Magazine, TWELV and The Huffington Post, among other publications. Additional contributions include SHOWstudio, The Laboratory Arts Collective and Eavves.
