Holly Gaboriault combines film, curation, and design research centered in the power of storytelling. Her film projects include producing and directing narratives that expand interdisciplinary dialogues among artists, designers, and creative scholars at the intersections of creative process and hidden histories. Encouraging collaboration among archives and material histories, Holly’s work brings into conversation people and places which have gone unrecognized or become disconnected from their truth

With a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Arts in Global Arts and Cultures from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Holly has held positions as a designer, art director, curator, director of programming, and strategic storytelling producer. She has participated in national exhibitions, design publications, and created illustrations, paintings and textile stylings for a collection of spaces and clients.

A 2023-24 Assistant Professor-in-Residence and cross-departmental critic at RISD, Holly is also a member of the Summer@Brown faculty. Her courses integrate interdisciplinary tools for historical activation exploring object-based research, curatorial investigation, and practices in sustaining community stories. Based in Providence, Rhode Island, she is currently producing several design history projects and a forthcoming documentary series featuring mid-20th century fashion designers and fashion illustration histories.
