Design research is a critical tool to transform spaces, tell our stories, and shine a light on hidden narratives often excluded. Throughout my career in the arts, I have produced storytelling initiatives, cinematic strategies, public programming, and conducted archival and collection-based research projects that open up dialogues for hidden histories and build accessible bridges for community storytelling. Mapping creative ecosystems, these vehicles for storytelling range from documentary film, exhibition planning and design case studies, to design journalism and education.

Providing narrative consultation and design strategies for cultural organizations, I advocate for narrative connections and collaborative initiatives. In 2012, I began producing and directing documentary film and media projects broadening and juxtaposing art and design dialogues amongst artists, designers, activists, curators, writers, scholars, scientists, and performers.

Educating designers and young creatives is an outlet important to my practice lecturing in the Theory + History of Art + Design Department at Rhode Island School or Design and Summer@Brown University. Recent projects include a  series of design research film featurettes; fashion + textile research uncovering hidden histories within design archives + museum spaces; and projects for community-narrative building.
