Holly Gaboriault 2020

Holly Gaboriault is a documentary filmmaker, director, curator, writer + design researcher creating strategies for transdicsplinary storytelling through ecosystems of inquiry and narrative connection.

Bio

For over seventeen years, Holly has incorporated the power of story as a crucial element exploring the multivocality necessary to share our stories and activate dialogues between design and globally-focused issues. Throughout her career her roles have included Art Director, Director of Public Programming, documentary filmmaker, design journalist, curator, lecturer, and exhibiting artist.

 

Since 2012, she has produced and directed documentary film features and media projects expanding interdisciplinary dialogues within art and design research amongst artists, designers, curators, writers, and musicians. Experienced in connecting uniquely diverse communities of practice, Holly provides strategic consultation for creative organizations and cultural institutions that encompass a range of perspectives, knowledge and disciplines resulting in new initiatives, programs, and community conversations.

Working as an artist and designer, she has created textile designs, editorial illustrations, public art installations, and participated in national invitational exhibitions + publications. During 2019-2021, she was the research graduate assistant to the RISD Research Director, a Maharam Fellow, and a Pedagogical Innovation Research Fellow while pursuing a Masters of Art at the Rhode Island School of Design. In 2021, she joined the Theory + History of Art + Design department at Rhode Island School of Design as a Lecturer for Global Modernisms and History of Architecture + Design.
